Sam Bahadur: Filmmaker Meghna Gulzar and Bollywood actor Vicky Kaushal remembered Indian field marshal Sam Manekshaw on his birth anniversary. They took to social media to post a 28-second video which revealed the title of their upcoming film based on Manekshaw's life- Sam Bahadur.

Vicky Kaushal will be playing the role of field marshal Sam Manekshaw in Sam Bahadur
Sam Bahadur is based on the life of the brave field marshal Sam Manekshaw, who played a pivotal role during the 1971 Indo-Pak war. The film will be directed by Meghna Gulzar, and Vicky Kaushal will be playing the role of Sam Manekshaw. Ronnie Screwvala will be producing the film.

Meghna Gulzar and Vicky Kaushal had earlier worked together in the 2018 film Raazi which starred Alia Bhatt in the lead role.
Who is Meghna Gulzar?
Writer, director and producer Meghna Gulzar is the daughter of lyricist and poet Gulzar and veteran actor Raakhee. She made her directorial debut with the 2002 film Filhaal, starring Sushmita Sen, Tabu and Sanjay Suri in the lead roles. She later found success with films such as Dus Kahaniyaan (2007), Talvar (2015), Raazi (2018), and Chhapaak (2020).
Speaking about her experience of working with Gulzar, Chhapaak's lead Deepika Padukone told SheThePeople in an exclusive interview, "We found a beautiful balance between her guiding me half of the way and letting me find my process for the other half. That’s how we managed to achieve part Laxmi and part Deepika. Without really discussing it too much, I kind of knew what Meghna wanted and she didn’t overdirect. She has also written a book on her father, titled Because He Is... She is married to producer Govind Sandhu and together the couple has a son name Samay.
