In an interview, Dot stated “It was interesting, it was with some of my friends: a singer and flautist and a bassist, guitarist. We all contributed with a bunch of songs, so it wasn’t just my songs. I think it was a bit more pop-oriented, but I can’t put a finger on that. I don’t get the genre thing, anyway.”

Aditi Saigal (Dot) is also very particular about only creating original music and refrains from playing covers even after continually being pushed by her fans. Singer-songwriters such as Regina Spektor, KT Tunstall and Paolo Nutini to jazz singers Peggy Lee and Etta James are known to have influenced her musical journey.
