The biographical drama television series Masaba Masaba season 2 release date is scheduled for next month. The series is based on the life of actor and fashion designer Masaba Gupta, who stars in the show alongside her mother Neena Gupta. The mother-daughter duo play a semi-fictionalised version of themselves on the television show.
Masaba Masaba follows the life of Masaba Gupta and shows her relationship with her family, her love life, and her career as a fashion designer. The series begins with Masaba's apparent divorce from her husband and follows her personal and professional life. The show marked Masaba Gupta’s debut as an actor; it is written and directed by Sonam Nair and is produced by Ashvini Yardi’s Vineyard Films.
The series also stars her mother Neena Gupta, Neil Bhoopalam, Satyadeep Mishra, Suchitra Pillai, Pooja Bedi, and Tanuj Virwani. Actor Kiara Advani and Director Farah Khan also made cameo appearances on the show.
Masaba Masaba was announced by Netflix in July 2019 and premiered a year later on 28 August 2020. The first season consisted of six episodes that were around 30 minutes each.
The series was officially renewed for a second season in March 2021 and went into production in July. By September, filming had wrapped up and post-production was left. The designer had shared the first look from season 2 on March 8, coinciding with Women's Day.
In an interview with Vogue, Masaba Masaba star Masaba Gupta spoke about how the second season of the series is about “bravery and courage”. Gupta added that the two topics would be covered from her mom, Neena Gupta’s perspective as well as her own. “As women, we are told to be modest, that we should be quiet and that we should let people appreciate us. I don’t agree. Nobody is going to do that for you. It’s a job you have to do yourself,” said Gupta.
Masaba Masaba Season 2 Release
Masaba Masaba season 2 release date is in July 2022 but the exact date has not been revealed yet. The biographical drama is speculated to release on either July 22 or July 29 since Indian Netflix originals often debut on a Friday.
