Kunchacko Boban starrer Malayalam film Ariyippu's trailer was released today. The film already made rounds in the film festival circuit in August. Recently, Netflix bought the rights to exclusively release the film on the platform.
The upcoming film of Mahesh Narayanan film is available for streaming from December 16. The film plot is set in New Delhi, amidst the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic. The film majorly focuses on a struggling couple working at a medical gloves factory. However, the couple's dream is to migrate outside the country for a better life. Although, old video surfaces among the workers, which put a lot of things at stake be reputation or jobs.
Malayalam Film Ariyippu Trailer Release
The trailer of " target="_blank" rel="noopener">Ariyippu shows an introduction to the Malayali couple's lives, first with Reshmi (Divya Prabha), who lacks experience speaking Hindi but is under constant scrutiny from her boss. Faisal Malik's unnamed character asks her “Why are you wearing a ring?” about standard protocol, to avoid contamination issues. She says, “Sir, it won't come off. Please tell him, sir,” she replies in her native language. In between the background score creates a lot of tension. It also shows a household situation of a couple, a small, dilapidated apartment, where a family resides. We see spouse Hareesh (Kunchacko Boban)applying for visas to emigrate out of the country for a better life. Things get difficult owning to lockdown and a video which creates confusion.
The trailer also reveals the inside workings of the glove factory, which seems fishy as it might involve contaminated materials. The video could be of masked Reshmi offering oral sex to a fellow worker. Hareesh on knowing about video questions Reshmi, also seed to dent their relationship. The situation fuels as the boss got access to the incriminating video.
This leads a couple into legal trouble, with the local cops deeming it enough proof to put a halt to their lives. The Ariyippu trailer gets into the factory's security systems and uncovers the truth about the whole situation, and the mistreatment of its employees.
The director Narayanan said in a statement, “Ariyippu's (Declaration) journey has been absolutely gratifying and fulfilling so far. I am delighted at the response the film has received at various film festivals across the globe and now that it has found its home on Netflix, I am looking forward to audiences around the world watching the film and their reactions to it. The film is about the pandemic and a story of one couple and their fight to survive through it."
