All We Know About Maitreyi Ramakrishnan's Netflix Film Best Of The Best

In an exciting development, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, who won hearts with her portrayal of Devi in Never Have I Ever, has been roped in for an upcoming production. Netflix’s film Best of the Best will once again showcase Maitreyi’s charm under the direction of acclaimed filmmaker Lena Khan. This marks a reunion for Maitreyi and Lena following their collaboration on Never Have I Ever.

The film also stars comedian Hasan Minhaj and Priyanka Kedia. While Netflix has yet to announce the release date, fans are eagerly anticipating this on-screen celebration of Indo-American cultural fusion.

According to reports, Best of the Best promises to be a dynamic blend of vibrant South Asian culture, campus life, and competitive dance, exploring themes of friendship and self-discovery. The story follows childhood best friends Maya and Anjali as they join their college’s Bollywood dance team.

Amid their quest for a national title, they navigate the highs and lows of competition, ultimately discovering that the true prize lies in the growth, camaraderie, and cultural connection they build along the way. With its uplifting and energetic narrative, the film captures the essence of South Asian pride, with an American twist.

All We Know About Best Of The Best 

The star cast, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan and Priyanka Kedia, announced their upcoming film collaboration on Instagram. Maitreyi, who will portray Maya in the film, captioned her announcement post: "my body is sore but my heart is full."

Priyanka, on the other hand, set to play the role of Anjali, penned an emotional caption: "The most surreal announcement I never could have imagined I’d get to make. from the bottom of my heart thank you thank you thank you for making that little girl’s (and her parents’) dreams come true. this is going to be such an insanely special one. Get ready!"

As per Variety, Hasan Minhaj and Prashanth Venkataramanujam serve as the film’s scriptwriters. Best of the Best is produced by Minhaj and Venkataramanujam under their banner 186K Films, and by Jonathan Eirich for Rideback. Ryan Halprin serves as the executive producer for Rideback.
