Love Story leak: The makers of the film Love Story urged the public to take a stand against piracy as the film got leaked online ahead of its digital release on October 22.
The version of the film has been reportedly circulating on social media. The film is also been broadcasted by certain TV operators. As the film was going to release on a streaming platform named Aha, the marketing team of the platform has reportedly seized the control rooms of cable operators in Wanaparthy, Telangana and Guntur areas in Andhra Pradesh. The said operators were playing the pirated version of the film.
The director of the film, Sekhar Kammula spoke to the media and said," Aha is releasing the film today, October 22. We are excited about its release and we hope that people who were not able to watch it in theatres can watch it in their homes. But meanwhile, we are facing a lot of piracy issues. Piracy in any form is bad for the industry, so say no to piracy and encourage the film industry.”
The representatives of the streaming platform said that the team has been arranged for the digital and cable network distribution to control the spread of pirated film. They said, "The biggest problem we have is piracy and we are fighting against it. Not just Aha, all platforms together. A team has been arranged for digital and cable network distribution. We all have to coexist.”
The platform representatives have added that piracy has led to revenue leakage. As per a report by The News Minute, the pirated version of the film is being circulated on several chatting platforms such as Telegram. “Legal action will be taken on those who distribute pirated versions of the movie,” said the Aha representative.
The team has also said that people can report piracy incidents in their area by calling the Aha support system on 6309001111.
