Talking about it the show's producer Ekta Kapoor said that Lock Upp isn't inspired by any international show and Ranaut is going to have 50 percent rights to eliminate contestants from the show.

Over the past few days, two contestants' names have been announced. The first one was television actor Nisha Rawal and the second one is that of stand up comedian Munawar Faruqui. On Wednesday, Poonam Pandey revealed that she is the third contestant on the show.

She shared her promo video on her Instagram feed and wrote, "Hot ke chakkar mein ho gayi main locked up (I got locked up because I am hot)! #LockUpp streaming from 27th Feb, LIVE free on @altbalaji and @mxplayer."

Pandey told India Today that she is excited to be part of the "biggest controversial show" in India. "I don't know what will happen in there because whatever I have read and have seen about the show, I have understood that I have to perform a task even for my basic necessities and there is no luxury in this Lock Upp. So I don't know how am I going to pull this off, but I am nervous and excited at the same time."
