Kuttey: Arjun Kapoor, Konkona Sensharma, Tabu’s Film Gets First Look Poster

Kuttey first look: Arjun Kapoor took to Twitter on Monday to announce his next film, Kuttey. The film will have an ensemble cast of Tabu, Naseeruddin Shah, Konkona Sensharma, Radhika Madan in key roles.

It also stars Kumud Mishra and Shardul Bhardwaj of Eeb Allay Ooo! fame in other roles. The first motion poster dropped on August 23.

Kuttey will be directed by filmmaker Vishal and singer Rekha Bhardwaj’s son Aasmaan V Bhardwaj, who will be making his debut as a director, and backed by Luv Ranjan and Bhushan Kumar. Vishal Bhardwaj is the producer for the film, the film is expected to have a theatrical release. Further details about the film are awaited. Check out the poster below:

The official Instagram page of Vishal Bhardwaj Films shared the announcement teaser of the film writing in Hindi: “ना ये भौंकते हैं, ना ग़ुर्राते हैं… बस काटते हैं! (They do not bark, they do not growl… they just bite!)”

The filmmaker-composer, best known for his acclaimed Shakespeare trilogy Maqbool, Omkara and Haider, is producing the film which is touted to be a thriller drama. Before Kuttey, Aasmaan has assisted his father in films like Matru Ki Bijli Ka Mandola, 7 Khoon Maaf and Pataakha. Vishal Bhardwaj said this film is very special to him since this is the first time he and Aasmaan are collaborating. The film will also mark the first collaboration of Vishal Bhardwaj with Arjun Kapoor, who was last seen in Dibakar Banerjee’s Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar opposite Parineeti Chopra. The filmmaker has previously worked with Madan in the 2018 drama Pataakha, directed Shah in the acclaimed Maqbool in 2003 and Sensharma in Omkara, released in 2006.

Bhushan Kumar also said that it will be exciting to see this creative synergy of two very diverse filmmakers and the stellar star cast to be associating and making something unique. 

The music of the film is by Vishal Bhardwaj and lyrics are penned by Gulzar. Kuttey is currently in its pre-production stage and will commence shooting at the end of 2021.
