Kriti Sanon recently acknowledged in an interview that she doesn't comprehend the necessity of repeating for expected glory. The actor claims that if Bareilly Ki Barfi made her a performer to watch out for and Mimi helped her gain more recognition, she is comfortable breaking the mould and trying to always "mix it up" because, otherwise, there will only be one possibility for her and the audience: boredom.

Kriti's next film appearance will be in Shehzada after Bachchhan Paandey and Varun Dhawan's Bhediya from last year. She will be paired up with Kartik Aaryan in the comedy-action drama, a remake of the 2020 Telugu blockbuster Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo starring Allu Arjun. Many people questioned how much room a film like Shehzada has for its female actors to perform and shine after the release of the film's trailer, especially Sanon, who was coming off the success of Mimi, in which she portrayed a surrogate mother.

Kriti Sanon, however, is unfazed by the issue. She tells Indian Express that she can't "engineer" her movie choices to follow trends and that she will make an effort to avoid doing so.

"Why do you expect me to act the same way each time? As an actor, please let me pick movies in which I think I can amuse the audience. Let me show you some material that I would adore seeing as a viewer, and I would adore it if you came to see me in that movie. However, I don't want to restrict it by claiming that since I have Bareilly Ki Barfi and Mimi, that's how I ought to be in every movie. No! You and I will both quickly grow bored with one another."

The actor claims that after working in the business for almost ten years, she has finally reached a point where audiences trust her ability to "act."

Sanon claims that now that she has reached that milestone, she wants to expand and avoid being labelled as "this extremely serious actor." "I don't need to show that I can act. That's what I did. Right now, all I want to do is try to do everything. I also itch to play roles that give me a lot of creative satisfaction, and I'll keep playing those parts. But in the middle, I think even I occasionally crave a brief break and want to do something light and enjoyable, like watch television.  I want to balance it. I don't want to develop into this very serious actor who only plays one kind of role", adds Sanon.
