“I’ll make a meaningful movie in the direction of understanding women a little more,” the actor said. After a three-year-long hiatus from the entertainment industry, Koo Hye Sun will be seen in Dark Yellow. The film reportedly will follow the story of a woman who works in a yellow flower shop and events that unfold when a strange man takes an interest in her and slowly starts to invade her private space.

The synopsis of the film was posted on the actor’s Instagram account. It reveals that this new project will be a thrilling horror melodrama that centres on women’s fears around power that is physical and not abstract or spiritual in a male-dominated sphere.

The 36-year-old actor emphasised how she hopes the project will give her a chance to communicate with the fans, supporters and audiences. Her agency MIMI Entertainment also said that they will focus on sharing the process of production of the film. “We hope that Dark Yellow will become a ‘place of meeting’ for the audience,” they stated.

About Dark Yellow

Dark Yellow is a crowdfunded project on the platform Wadiz and the process of the film-making will be shared with the public. The supporters will be given a chance to attend the film screening and will receive products from the film production.

The crowdfunding project will start the funding from May 17 and the campaign will officially take place from May 31 to June 30. The team is set to begin filming in June and the actor’s own production company will produce Dark Yellow.

Dark Yellow is Ku Hye Sun’s first acting role in a movie since the short film Father’s Sword in 2017. Her last project as a director was the short film Mystery Pink in 2018.
