Bollywood actors Janhvi Kapoor and Sara Ali Khan appeared together on the second episode of the Karan Johar talk show, Koffee With Karan's seventh season. Fans expected a lot of fun from the programme after seeing snippets of Khan claiming she wanted to "date" Vijay Deverakonda or the actors discussing their ex-partners in the previews. However, many viewers were unimpressed after it aired.
On the same couch, Sara Ali Khan had openly admitted to having a crush on Kartik Aaryan, which reportedly started a real-life relationship between the two. Although neither Sara nor Kartik have publicly acknowledged their relationship—they were rumoured to have broken up after filming their movie Love Aaj Kal—Karan Johar claimed in a recent interview that the show has aided many real-life relationships, including Sara Ali Khan and Kartik Aaryan's.

Sara Ali Khan is asked to reveal who she is now "crushing on" by Karan Johar in the teaser. She first baulks at saying a name, but eventually caves and admits that it is Vijay Deverakonda. Next to her, Janhvi is unable to contain her laughter. Sara Ali Khan asks her about her feelings for Vijay after Karan reveals how Janhvi is frequently seen with him.
In the episode, Sara Ali Khan instantly replied, "No," before picking Vijay Deverakonda when Karan asked her to identify another man she would like to date. However, Karan Johar claimed that he thinks Vijay and Janhvi Kapoor make a nice pairing.
In addition, there were rumours that Kartik Aaryan dated Janhvi Kapoor. They were set to collaborate on Karan Johar's Dostana 2 project, but after weeks of rumours that Karan Johar and Kartik Aaryan had a falling out, Dharma Productions quickly announced that the movie would be recast. When Karan Johar asked Sara Ali Khan to describe "one reason why your ex is your ex," perhaps in relation to the Kartik, Sara responded, "Because he's everyone's ex," with Janhvi, nearly falling off the couch.

Koffee with Karan is now exclusively available on Disney+ Hotstar for the first time. All prior seasons were broadcast on Star World. This season's episode will also have appearances from Akshay Kumar, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Shahid Kapoor, Kiara Advani, Anil Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, and more celebrities, sources say.
