Zara Hatke Zara Bachke Director Reveals Reason For Not Casting Katrina Kaif

Ahead of Zara Hatke Zara Bachke's release, the director Laxman Utekar revealed why Katrina Kaif couldn't meet the requirement of the film.

While Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan are fully engrossed in the promotion of their upcoming film Zara Hatke Zara Bachke, Director Laxman Utekar while talking to the Peepingmoon shared why Katrina wasn't his choice for the film saying how Katrina's "aura and personality" doesn't fit the description of a small town girl.

When asked question on everyone's mind why didn't cast the newly wedded couple together in this film he jokingly answers: "Meri language Katrina ko samajh aayegi tabhi kar paunga". He adds laughing: "Aap log ko lagta hai Katrina kabhi chote see town ki heroine lagegi?"

Utekar went on to explain why Katrina wasn't the perfect choice for the role of a "middle-class joint family's daughter-in-law" in the film Zara Hatke Zara Bachke: "If we get a good script, I would love to work with Vicky and Katrina. I couldn't get them on board this time because Zara Hatke Zara Bachke is in a different space and I feel Katrina ka jo aura hai and personality hai, mujhe personally laga nahi ki woh ek middle-class joint family ki bahu lag sakti hai .”

When asked if he would in future if he gets the suitable script will he cast the couple together he answers: "agar future mein aisa kuch banega joh unko suit karega .”

Zara Hatke Zara Bachke stars Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan as a married couple who pretend to hate each other in front of their extended joint family and are set to take a divorce but are madly in love with each other in secrecy.

While the director Laxman Utekar is known for making Hindi and Marathi films in the small town set up and has directed films like Mimi, Luka Chupi, etc. His upcoming project as a Producer: An Impossible Love Story starring Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon is set to be releasing later this year on October 2023.

Vicky Kaushal will be seen next in films: Sam Bahadur and Dunki. And Sara Ali Khan will be next seen in Metro In Dino and Ae Mere Watan. The stars will be again seen together in the film The Immortal Ashwatthama whose dates are yet to be announced.
