Katrina Kaif, Vicky Kaushal Name Son 'Vihaan': Is It An 'Uri' Reference?

Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal revealed the name of their two-month-old son: Vihaan. Mom Katrina shared an adorable photo of the baby's hand in their hands, and wrote "Our ray of light, Vihaan Kaushal... Prayers are answered, life is beautiful. Our world changed in an instant. Gratitude beyond words."

The boy name Vihaan has a deep and warm significance in Sanskrit. As Katrina's caption says, it means "ray of light" or break of dawn.

But here's the catch: The name has a deeper significance for dad Vicky Kaushal, as it could be related to his acclaimed 2019 film Uri: The Surgical Strike.

Vicky's character in the film is named Major Vihaan Singh Shergill. To date, it is one of the best and most respected performances by the actor.

Katrina and Vicky announced the birth of their baby boy in a social media post on November 7. They wrote, "Our bundle of joy has arrived. With immense love and joy, we welcome our baby boy."

Fans and fellow celebrities quickly flooded the post with congratulatory messages, celebrating the news of the beloved couple stepping into parenthood.

Kareena Kapoor Khan wrote, "Katttttt welcome to the boy Mamma club... so happy for you and vicky!"

Sonam Kapoor wrote, "Amazing both of you. All my love."

Parineeti Chopra, who also recently welcomed her baby boy, wrote, "Congratssssssss new mamma and papa!"

Priyanka Chopra, Anil Kapoor, Ayushmann Khurrana, and Maniesh Paul also congratulated the couple.

Pregnancy announcement

After months of rumours, Katrina and Vicky made the news of their pregnancy public on  September 23. They posted an adorable polaroid photo on Instagram, captioned, "On our way to start the best chapter of our lives with hearts full of joy and gratitude." In the black-and-white photo, Vicky is seen caressing Katrina's baby bump as they lovingly smile at each other. Within hours, the post crossed three million likes.

Katrina, Vicky Relationship Timeline

Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal reportedly met in 2019 at a house party hosted by filmmaker Zoya Akhtar. When they started dating, they kept their relationship private; however, fans caught on to subtle hints. By the end of that year, rumours of their relationship started spreading when they were seen together socially at award ceremonies, Diwali parties, family functions, etc. 

The couple tied the knot in a private ceremony in December 2021 in Rajasthan, after almost two years of dating. Katrina looked like an ethereal princess in a red lehenga by legendary designer Sabyasachi. Vicky opted for an ivory-colored, hand-embroidered silk sherwani by the same couturier.

Reports indicate that Katrina is already in her third trimester, and sources suggest the due date is sometime between mid-October and the end of October 2025. Earlier this year, the actress was seen at religious festivals and events like Maha Kumbh.
