The singer from South Korea Jungkook, who is part of the boy band called Bangtan Boys (BTS) has tested positive for COVID-19. His test results came in on March 28 and then the agency handling the talent name Big Hit Music came out with a statement. He tested positive after landing in the United States and just days before the Grammys 2022.
Confirming in a statement, Big Hit Music stated, "Jungkook was tested negative on a PCR test in Korea, and he departed for the United States on Sunday, March 27 (KST) in preparation for the Grammy Awards performance." However, the statement continued that after arriving in Las Vegas, Jungkook felt discomfort in his throat and soon after took a rapid PCR test and a standard PCR test on Sunday afternoon.
He quarantined himself and took all the proactive measures. "The result came back positive and Jungkook was confirmed with COVID-19 on Monday, March 28 (PT)," the statement read.

It's been further stated that he is under self-quarantine and undergoing treatment as per the health guidelines in the United States. Even though, he is not exhibiting any symptoms other than a mild sore throat. The agency also said that they are keeping a track of his health. "Jungkook's participation in the later schedule in the United States will be determined by the local regulations on COVID-19. while we are actively in discussion with the awards organizer," the agency further stated.
While apologising to the fans, the agency stated that they are doing everything to take care of the singer and have sought understanding and support from the fans. "We will continue to provide support for the rapid recovery of Jungkook, placing our highest priority on the health and safety of our artists. We will also continue to fully cooperate with the requests and guidelines of healthcare authorities," they stated.
He was the first member of the boy band to travel to the US. The other members--RM, Jin, Suga, Jimin and V were spotted at the Incheon International Airport. A few days ago, another member J-Hope had tested positive for COVID-19 and is expected to join later.

The band is scheduled to perform at the Grammys this weekend however there is still talks taking place on what the situation is going to be like. The award show is scheduled to take place on April 4 this year.
