Actor Jennifer Winget spoke about her divorce from model and actor Karan Singh Grover and how people called her “bechari”. Winget and Grover got married in 2012 and filed for divorce in 2014. The actors had met on the set of the television series Dill Mill Gayye and began dating.

In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Winget spoke about their divorce, “Both of us were not ready.” She said they had been friends for a long time and called their divorce a result of “unfortunate timing”.

Winget said she felt lost after the divorce and cut off from people after people told her how to process and feel about the divorce. She added that her friends would force her to go out even when she did not want to go. After she went out, she had to deal with people looking at her with “sad, sympathetic eyes like ‘arre bechari yaar’”.

Winget would get angry whenever people looked at her with “sympathetic eyes” and avoided going out in public. She said she appreciated that people cared about her, but said it was not what she needed at the moment. Winget said she was not ready to deal with other people because she was too busy dealing with herself.

Reportedly, details about Winget’s divorce with Grover were “out in the public, and I wasn’t even on social media.” She described the ordeal as an invasion of privacy for the divorced couple and said “That period was very stressful”.

Winget starred in the Netflix film Phir Se in 2018. She made her television debut in the series Shaka Laka Boom Boom. Since then, Winget has starred in shows such as Dill Mill Gayye, Beyadh, Bepannaah, and Saraswatichandra.
