'Jayeshbhai Jordaar' Reviews: Audience Praises Ranveer Singh's Act In The Film

Jayeshbhai Jordaar was released to mixed reviews with many criticizing the writing of the film and saying that the writing is weak. Some even pointed out that a film of the scale as this should have been released on the OTT platform instead.

Jayeshbhai Jordaar, starring Ranveer Singh, was released on May 13 in theatres and the reviews are pouring in. The film backed by Yash Raj Films revolves around a married man leaving no stone unturned to save his unborn girl child from Boman Irani and Ratna Pathak Shah who play the role of his conservative parents in the film.

Ranveer’s character runs away from his house with his pregnant wife played by Arjun Reddy actor Shalini Pandey and his elder daughter after his parents express that they will abort the child if it turns out to be a girl.

The film had gotten into a legal soup recently with a petitioner moving to court to get a scene removed from the film since it pertained to a baby’s gender determination which is illegal in India.

Regardless, the leading man Ranveer Singh managed to impress the viewers with his performance as a father who does the best to his ability to save his unborn daughter and fight the regressive mentality that prevailed in the town, he lived in.

Anmol Jamwal, a film enthusiast, wrote, that irrespective of the film’s performance at the Box Office, it has delivered what it promised. “Whatever be the BO fate of #JayeshbhaiJordaar, it’s undeniable that it delivers on many fronts! Ranveer Singh is the anchor of the ship assisted brilliantly by a talented ensemble cast. A commentary on masculinity, equality & female infanticide: it is a WINNER."

Meanwhile, another user wrote, “An appreciation tweet for Ranveer Singh for nailing almost every role with brilliance. This man is simply amazing. Gives his 100% to whatever he does. And his performance in #JayeshbhaiJordaar is no exception. One of the finest actors of our times.”

A Twitter user wrote that the film’s first half was pretty good but it dwindled in the second half. “Story and Concept is good Ranveer Singh carried the film on his shoulder and well maintained Gujrati accent. 1st Half did pretty good to set up things heated. Some slight unnecessary and a little boring in the second half. That's it”

An editor with a leading daily wrote, "Yeh samaaj sirf humaare paap aur puniya ka hisaab rakhte hai, pyaar ka kya hai? Loved this dialogue from this movie, it’s high on drama with an important message for a girl child. Ranveer Singh is brilliant with his performance."
