Vidya Balan, Shefali Shah Starrer Thriller 'Jalsa' Set For OTT Release

Jalsa release date has been announced by the makers on February 28. The drama thriller has actors Vidya Balan and Shefali Shah playing lead roles. The film will make its OTT world premiere on Amazon Prime Video on March 18.

The film has been directed by Suresh Trivedi, which makes for the second collaboration between Vidya Balan and the director after Tumhari Sulu.

Apart from Balan and Shah, the film also has actors such as Manav Kaul, Iqbal Khan, Shrikant Mohan Yadav, Vidharti Bandi, Safeen Patel, Surya Kasibhatla and Rohini Hattangadi. The film has been produced by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar of T-series and Vikram Malhotra and Shikhaa Sharma of Abundantia Entertainment and Suresh Triveni.

The chairperson and managing director T-series, Bhushan Kumar has earlier collaborated with Amazon Prime for the films Sherni, Airliftm Chhorii. In his statement, the producer said, "'Jalsa' is one of the most gripping and entertaining films that we've been a part of at T-series and I am thrilled that it is with one of our most trusted partners, Abundantia Entertainment."

He added, "We have had an extremely successful collaboration in the past with films like 'Airlift', 'Sherni' and 'Chhorii' and I look forward to recreating the same magic with Jalsa. I am excited for the film to premiere on Amazon Prime Video as it will allow the film to get a truly global audience as it rightfully deserves."

Actor Vidya Balan was last seen in a film titled Sherni for which she gained much praise from the audience. In her statement from earlier about the film, the actor had expressed excitement for her second collaboration with Suresh Trivedi. She added that the movie is an edgy but human story and that she can’t wait to firstly start work on it and then share it with the world.
