Cast

Leila star Huma Qureshi will be seen in the lead role of Rani Bharti, and Sohum Shah will play the role of Bihar's Chief Minister and Bharti's husband. Apart from the main roles, other supporting characters will be played by Pramod Pathak, Amit Sial, Inaam UI, and Kani Kusruti. The show is created by Shubhash Kapoor and directed by Karan Sharma and is produced by Naren Kumar and Dimple Kharbanda.

Story

The plot revolves around Rani Bharti, who is the wife of Bheema Yadav, the Chief Minister of Bihar. Bharti's life changes when she is announced as the next Chief Minister. The show portrays how a woman handles the responsibilities of a state as the Chief Minister with conspiracy around her.

The inspiration for the show is reportedly taken from 90s Bihar when Lalu Prasad Yadav was the Chief Minister and announced his wife Rabri Devi to be his successor. Rabri Devi then went on to serve three consecutive terms as the Chief Minister of Bihar.

Release details

The show is set to release in May 2021 and will be available for streaming on SonyLIV. The official date of the release has not been declared yet but it is expected to come out by the last week of May.

A teaser for the series was released on Friday, April 9 2021 in which we can see a female leader who comes to power after beating all the odds. The trailer has caught the eyes of the audiences and had made the show one of the most anticipated shows in the first half of the year.
