Hocus Pocus 2 release date announced as the Salem witches return after 29 long years in the sequel. Disney+Hotstar recently released the first teaser trailer of the Hocus-Pocus sequel on June 28 morning and it has already cast a spell on the audience.
Hocus Pocus 2 will see the reunion of the original cast of Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy as the witchy Sanderson sisters. The trio will reportedly be making a brief appearance, as showcased at the end of the teaser. The words “Lock up your children!” appeared on the screen as Midler announced. “Yes, Salem, we’re back!”
The synopsis read, “Now it is up to three high school students to stop the ravenous witches from wreaking a new kind of havoc on Salem before dawn on All Hallow’s Eve,” as the 1993 original Sanderson witches are back seeking revenge for their execution in the 17th century.

Disney + Hotstar has earned the streaming rights for the movie. The original 1993 movie even though was a box office failure, became a sleeper hit and a cult classic, and thus was decided on for a sequel. In the teaser
">trailer released on Tuesday, a group of teenagers are seen trying to cast a spell to reignite the black flame and resurrect the coven, which will lead to the original trio coming back to life.
The movie has reportedly been in development for a few years now. Back in 2020, Disney officially announced the return of Hocus Pocus 2 on the 2020 Investor Day, after the Hocus Pocus film became the biggest big-screen re-release of 2020. The filmmakers opted to go straight to a digital release. The tweet read, "Coming exclusively to @DisneyPlus is Hocus Pocus 2, the spooky sequel to the 1993 Halloween classic! @AdamMShankman is set to direct."
