Rajkummar Rao, Sanya Malhotra Starrer 'HIT - The First Case' To Release In July

The upcoming suspense thriller HIT- The First Case, starring Rajkummar Rao and Sanya Malhotra, has a release date, and it's earlier than expected. The release date has been announced today as May 13 by the producers.

The film HIT, which stands for Homicide Intervention Team, depicts the narrative of a cop on the hunt for a missing woman. Rajkummar Rao will play a cop in the film, which is a remake of the Telugu movie of the same name from 2020 and directed by Sailesh Kolanu, who also directed the original. Vishwak Sen and Ruhani Sharma play key roles in the original film.

HIT The First Case Release Date

The film's producers made the announcement today on Twitter, writing, "Hitting the theatres with HIT-The First Case, with a new release date of July 15th, 2022." The film was originally set to be released on May 20.

Rajkummar Rao's upcoming projects include the social dramas Monica, O My Darling and Bheed, directed by Anubhav Sinha. Meanwhile, Sanya Malhotra will act alongside Shah Rukh Khan in an untitled film, Sam Bahadur, which also stars Vicky Kaushal, and Kathal.

Meanwhile, Kolanu is already working on the sequel of the film dubbed HIT- The Second Case has been in the works. It stars Adivi Sesh and Meenakshi Chaudhary and is directed by Sailesh Kolanu and produced by Nani and Prashanti Tipirneni. Vishwak Sen has been replaced in the sequel by Adivi Sesh.

In the sequel film, Adivi Sesh will be seen as the main character and Meenakshi Chaudhary opposite him. Actor Bhanu Chander will reprise his role from the original. As Nani wanted the franchise to be more "concept oriented" than "star-centered," he also changed the setting from Telangana to Andhra Pradesh.
