Rupali Ganguly was born in Calcutta on April 5, 1977. Her father, Anil Ganguly, was a director and screenwriter, and her brother, Vijay Ganguly, is a producer-actor. She studied hotel management and theatre before landing the lead role in Sukanya, a television show.
