The days when television actors received paltry salaries in comparison to those of their film counterparts are long gone. Popular TV actors in the not-too-distant past were paid less per episode, had long working hours, and gave a commitment to long projects that lasted forever. However, the scene has drastically changed as a result of changing trends in TV, the popularity of film personalities, game shows, and reality TV. Money began to flow in as audiences increased and television emerged as a successful industry, closing the pay gap between the two mediums.

Though, it is not surprising that the majority of the highest-paid TV personalities are celebrities who host one or more programmes, such as Amitabh Bachchan for Kaun Banega Crorepati, Kangana Ranaut for Lock Up, Kapil Sharma for The Kapil Sharma Show, and Karan Johar for Koffee With Karan.

Highest Paid Female TV Actors

According to numerous sources, these movie actors are paid a sizable sum for each episode of their various programmes that range from INR 1 lakh to much more. This huge number suggests that their profits from their television projects during a season can compete with those of some of the highest-paid movie stars. Currently, Rupali Ganguly is in the lead. The Anupamaa star reportedly charges 3 million (Rs. 30 lakh) per episode for the programme. Tejasswi Prakash charges Rs. 2 lakh per episode. Divyanka Tripathi Dahiya charges Rs. 1 to 1.5 lakh per episode. Actors like Jennifer Winget, Sakshi Tanwar and more charge Rs. 1 to 1.25 lakh per episode. Each episode brings in more than Rs 1.5 lakh for Hina Khan, Ronit Roy, and Ram Kapoor.

These earnings, however, are insignificant in comparison to what actor Salman Khan makes hosting the well-known reality series Bigg Boss. Last year, some sources said that Salman Khan made a staggering INR 1000 crore for the whole Bigg Boss 16 season. In interviews, the actor made fun of the figure and never took it seriously. However, a few sources claimed it is an exaggerated figure. For the next season, Salman is reportedly charging INR 25 crore per week, or INR 12.5 crore for each episode. He is the highest-paid Indian television personality as a result.
