Golden Globes 2021: After creating a whole lot of buzz with the nominations, Golden Globe 2021 awards is finally just days away. The virtual function will be live on Sunday, February 28, 2021.

NBC recently announced the list of celebrities who will present the awards to winners on the big night and the list is quite big. Margot Robbie is one of the names on the list along with Kate Hudson, Tiffany Haddish, Kenan Thompson and Anthony Anderson. These celebrities will join the already announced names of presenters such as Catherine Zeta-Jones, Kyra Sedwick, Susan Kelechi Watson, Sterling K. Brown and Kevin Bacon.

The virtual award show will be hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler from their respective locations in Los Angeles and New York. The nominations had mixed reactions from the audience and artists. On one hand, it was the first time three female directors were nominated in the Best Director category in the same year and on the other hand there were a lot of significant shows and movies snubbed by the award committee. Films such as Mank and The Trial of Chicago 7 won the most number of nominations while Emerald Fennell’s Promising Young Woman also stood out win many nominations in its bag. Overall, the movies and series on the OTT platform Netflix had domination over the nominations.

Like every year, the lack of diversity in award shows was pointed out. Hollywood Foreign Press Association which organises the Golden Globes came under fire for not having even a single Black journalist in its team of 87 international journalists.
