Actor Gauahar Khan has appeared in dance numbers in various films, including Nasha from Aan (2004), Parda from Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai (2010), Jhalla Wallah from Ishaqzaade (2012), and Jawaani Le Doobi from Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3(2016). She began her career as a model and later made appearances in a few music videos, notably Bombay Vikings' Hawa Mein Udati Jaaye.

Khan has recently opened up about her early career when it was believed that if an actor didn't star opposite a "great actor" or only performed in item numbers, they would never become an actor. Khan claimed in a recent interview that she has been fighting misconceptions and intends to keep doing so.

In an interview with News18, Khan expressed her hope that she would be able to continue challenging stereotypes. When she first began acting, the belief was that if you don't appear opposite a well-known actor or do solely item songs, you'll never make it as an actor. She has fought against these things all throughout her career, and she continued," I’ve been able to do so successfully."

Further added that she is not a rebel and not interested in proving anything merely for the purpose of proving it, if the opportunity presents itself, she would definitely want to challenge prejudices. But every time someone tells her not to do something, she responds, "Bring it on!" She wishes to attempt to refute their claims. According to her, she's previously done it and her entire career has actually been focused on it, and she aspires to do so in the future as well.

In 2009, Gauahar Khan debuted in Bollywood with the film Rocket Singh, costarring Ranbir Kapoor. She has been on a number of reality shows, including I Can Do That, Bigg Boss 7, The Khan Sisters, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 3, and Khatron Ke Khiladi 5. Ishaqzaade, Fever, Badrinath Ki Dulhania, Begum Jaan, and 14 Phere are just a few of the movies she worked on. She recently appeared in Shiksha Mandal and was a part of the web series Tandav.
