Gradually, creators are turning to OTT releases which has resulted in return of our favourite shows as well as new cinematic projects. The second half of 2021 seems promising. Among others here are Disney Hotstar new releases.

A rundown of new release on Disney Hotstar:

Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 1

Release date: July 2

The animated series which is part of the Star Wars franchise features Dee Bradley Baker stars as the Bad Batch, a squad of elite clone troopers. The 16-episode series is a sequel as well as spin-off from the series Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

The Mysterious Benedict Society Season 1

Release date: July 2

Based on the young adult book series of the same name, the adventure series begins at the Stone town Orphanage for gifted children. For a special mission, four children are assembled to investigate an institution. They aim to stop the secret messages transmitted into people’s minds via television and radio signals.

Monsters At Work

Release date: July 7

The animated series is a spin off of the Monsters, Inc. franchise scheduled to debut on the streaming platform. The series follows the story of a recent Scare Major graduate from Monsters University, who dreams of working alongside his idols in the city of Monstropolis.

Black Widow

Release date: July 9

The Marvel film will see Scarlett Johansson reprising her role as Black Widow. The much-awaited film is set against the backdrop of events that transpired in Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Endgame. Additionally, it is the first film in Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The Jimmy Sheirgill starrer thriller spans out when school kids get taken hostage by a human bomb. The actor who plays the role of a celebrated cop needs to relive his past in the process of solving this mystery.

The White Lotus

Release date: July 12

The limited series is a social satire set at an exclusive tropical resort and follows the exploits of various guests and employees over the span of a week.

Catch & Kill: The Podcast Tapes

Release date: July 13

The documentary miniseries follows Ronan Farrow who interviews sources- journalists, victims and private investigator- for his book Catch and Kill. The HBO series consists of 6-episodes tracks the interviews conducted for the Pulitzer-Prize winning journalist’s podcast.

Turner & Hooch Season 1

Release date: July 21

The series Turner & Hooch follows Scott Turner, son of Detective Scott Turner portrayed by Tom Hanks in the 1989 film of the same name. Turner, US Marshal, inherits a drooling junkyard dog and he soon realizes that the dog may be the partner he needs.

Playing with Sharks

Release date: July 23

The documentary film captures the life of Valerie Taylor, a fearless diver, cinematographer and pioneering conservationist. Her life’s work has become the basis for much of what we know about sharks today. The archival footage and interviews with Valerie herself follows the daring ocean explorer’s trajectory.
