Those Miss India Days! Dia Mirza's Photo With Priyanka Chopra, Lara Dutta Is So Nostalgic

Dia Mirza throwback picture gives us major nostalgia: Model-turned actor and producer Dia Mirza recently shared a picture from her Miss India 2000 days, where she was seen along with Priyanka Chopra and Lara Dutta. what made the pageant special is that all its winners went on to win at global events.

Mirza had shared the picture with hashtag ThrowbackThursady, captioning it, "Throwing it back to the year 2000".

In the photograph, we see all the three winners from the beauty pageant pose for the camera on a bright sunny day in black dresses. While Chopra wore a black-maroon mix slit dress, Dutta is seen wearing a black pant coat, while Mirza dons black pants and a long shrug dress. 

Former Miss Universe Lara Dutta commented on the picture and wrote, "Three girls with a heart full of dreams and each other to lean on!!"

The three of them participated in Femina Miss India Beauty Pageant and won titles together. Lara Dutta won the Miss India title, along with Priyanka Chopra and Dia Mirza who won the first runner up and the second runner up position respectively. Later on that year, the three beauty queens bagged the international titles as well.

Chopra won Miss World for the year 2000 and Lara Dutta went on to become the Miss Universe in the same year. Dutta became the second Indian to have won the title after Sushmita Sen(in the year 1994). Dia Mirza was crowned with Miss Asia Pacific pageant in the same year. 

After returning to the country, Priyanka Chopra and Lara Dutta even starred in a movie together named Andaaz which also starred Akshay Kumar. Dia Mirza too followed the footsteps of her fellow beauty queens and starred in Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein, along with R Madhavan and Saif Ali Khan among other movies. 

On the work front, Chopra will be next seen in a Hindi movie by Zoya Akhtar- Jee Le Zara, and global venture Citadel, along with Sangeet Project(as host along with her husband Nick Jonas). Lara Dutta recently starred in the web series Kaun Banegi Shikharwati and Call My Agent. Dia Mirza too appeared in the series Call My Agent. She was last seen in the 2020 film Thappad by Anubhav Sinha where she was seen playing the role of a single and independent mother.
