The web series follows the story of Vishal from India and Sara from Pakistan. The two characters find a common ground for connection after they both lost their fathers in the war. Their shared grief automatically serves as a foundation for their friendship.
Dhoop Ki Deewar is a story of love, kinship as well as grief. Actor Aly is known for her performance in the film Mom and the telefilm Behadd while actor Mir has appeared in serials like Ehd-e-Wafa and Sammi.
Dhoop Ki Deewar is directed by Haseeb Hasan and written by Umera Ahmed, who has also written the hit show Zindagi Gulzar Hai.
Director Hasan said the show reflects positivity that is beyond borders, religion, and societal biases. He also mentioned that the show’s charm is its simplicity. “In the show, a subject such as a cross-border love story has been dealt with so differently and has an underlying message of peace, harmony, and joy of life,” Hasan said in a statement.
Umera Ahmed said that Dhoop Ki Deewar can be relatable for everyone on a personal level irrespective of their country, religion, or belief. “It is a story of love, grief, and loss that people across borders and overseas can relate to on a human level,” the writer said.
Dhoop Ki Deewar is the official third Zindagi original, after the hit thriller drama Churails and comedy-drama Ek Jhoothi Love Story. Ek Jhoothi Love Story was also written by Umera Ahmed.
Cast
Produced by Motion Content Group and Hamdan Films, the web series has an assembled cast that includes actors Ahad Raza Mir and Sajal Aly in lead roles. Zaib Rehman, Savera Nadeem, Samiya Mumtaz, Samina Ahmed, Manzar Sehbai will also be seen in the web series in prominent roles.
Release Date
The streaming platform ZEE5 announced on June 9 that the latest Zindagi original Dhoop Ki Deewar will be released on June 25.
