Suhani Bhatnagar Passes Away At 19: Parents Reveal Reason Of Death

The Dangal actor was diagnosed with dermatomyositis, a rare disorder that causes inflammation in muscles. She had been unwell for some time, receiving treatment at AIIMS, New Delhi, where she eventually succumbed to an ailment.

Suhani Bhatnagar, widely recognized for her portrayal as Junior Babita Phogat, Aamir Khan's on-screen daughter in Nitesh Tiwari's acclaimed film Dangal, passed away on Saturday at the tender age of 19. Aamir Khan Productions, the banner under which Dangal was produced, officially confirmed this heartbreaking news on February 17, 2024.

Residing in Sector 17, Faridabad, her final rites are scheduled at the Ajronda crematorium in Sector 15, Faridabad, where friends, family, and admirers will pay their last respects.

Parents Reveal Reason Of Death

While the details surrounding Suhani Bhatnagar's death remained in mystery for the past week, her parents have now revealed the reason behind her demise. Bhatnagar was diagnosed with dermatomyositis, a rare disorder that causes inflammation in muscles. The young actor had been unwell for a period, receiving treatment at AIIMS, New Delhi, where she eventually succumbed to an ailment. 

Aamir Khan Productions Pays Tribute

Aamir Khan Productions, deeply affected by the loss, expressed their condolences through a heartfelt tweet. The production house acknowledged Suhani's exceptional talent and described her as a team player integral to the success of Dangal.

"We are deeply saddened to hear about our Suhani passing away. Our heartfelt condolences to her mother Poojaji, and the entire family. Such a talented young girl, such a team player, Dangal would have been incomplete without Suhani. Suhani, you will always remain a star in our hearts. May you rest in peace."

Bhatnagar was very active on the social media platform Instagram. She used to post pictures quite frequently. However, her last post on Instagram is from November 2021. She shared sun-kissed selfies with the caption "November??"

Her feed includes many photos from the time of the promotions of the movie Dangal. She shared screens with Amir Khan, Sanya Malhotra and Fatima Sana Shaikh.

Early Stardom in Dangal

Her portrayal of child Babita Phogat received much appreciation. The movie starred Amir Khan as wrestler Mahavir Phogat, who wanted to train his daughters and make them India's first world-class female wrestlers. Following her impactful stint in Dangal, Suhani transitioned to the world of advertisements, showcasing her versatility as an actor. However, she had taken a break from acting to focus on her studies, despite offers pouring her way. In several interviews, Bhatnagar mentioned that she wanted to come back to the film industry after completing her education.
