It was discovered a few days ago that the Kolkata High Court has recently received a PIL (Public Interest Litigation) against Lal Singh Chaddha. In Bengal, it is demanded that the movie be completely banned due to alleged civil unrest. Additionally, on August 12, a Delhi-based lawyer filed a complaint with Delhi Police commissioner Sanjay Arora accusing Bollywood actor Aamir Khan, Paramount Pictures, and other entities of "disrespecting the Indian Army and hurting Hindu sentiments" in their production of Laal Singh Chaddha.

In his complaint to Delhi Police, lawyer Vineet Jindal claimed that the film had objectionable material and asked for the filing of an FIR under sections 153, 153A, 298, and 505 of the IPC against Khan, the director Advait Chandan, and Paramount Pictures. While Shabaash Mithu, directed by Srijit Mukherji and produced by Viacom18 Studios, is based on the life of Mithali Raj, it stars Taapsee Pannu in the titular role.
