Co-Host Tina Fey States That Golden Globes 2021 Will Be Free Of Politics

Comedy duo Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will be hosting the Golden Globes this year and according to Fey, it will be free of politics.

Fey stated that she and Poehler won’t be getting political while hosting the Golden Globes. On the ‘Rappaport to the Rescue’ podcast, Fey told Jill Rappaport that “We just want to make it a fun hang out for people at home — kind of a stress reliever, so I don’t think you can expect much politics at all. Fey added that “It doesn’t seem like a venue for political jokes.”

It will be the fourth time the Fey and Poehler co-host the Golden Globes together. Fey and Poehler has co-hosted the Golden Globes three years consecutively from 2013 to 2015. This year, Poehler will be emceeing from Los Angeles and Fey will be New York.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the 78th Golden Globes will be a virtual event. Nominees will be on-camera in their homes, waiting for the announcement of the winners. The ceremony will air live on NBC and further announcements regarding timings, voting period, and revised nominations will be provided in the coming weeks.

Amy Poehler and Tina Fey were both cast members of Saturday Night Live have starred together in movies such as Baby Mama, Sisters, and Wine Country. The comedic duo are known for starring in the sitcom hits, Parks and Recreation which starred Poehler and 30 Rock which starred Fey.
