Actor Dinesh Phadnis, renowned for his role as Fredericks on the popular Sony TV series CID, has passed away. His co-star Dayanand Shetty confirmed the news to the Indian Express, stating, "Dinesh passed away at 12.08 am." He had been undergoing treatment at Mumbai's Tunga Hospital, and his final rites are scheduled at Daulat Nagar Crematorium in Borivali East.
Earlier reports had speculated that Dinesh suffered a heart attack, but Dayanand Shetty clarified that Dinesh was actually dealing with liver damage, dispelling the rumours. Phadnis portrayed the role of Fredericks, the jovial and innocent CID officer, alongside Shivaji Satam and Aditya Shrivastava on the show CID.
