Television actor Anita Raaj, famous for playing the character of Kulwant Kaur in series Choti Sarrdaarni, has tested positive for COVID-19. She is under quarantine and as per reports, other people on the sets of the show have tested negative. The 59-year-old actor is yet to make a public statement on her health.
Raaj had tested positive for the virus a couple of months ago in October 2021. Following recovery, she had returned to social media to share glimpses from the sets, reels with her castmates, as well as throwbacks to her younger days.
As per a source quoted by ETimes on Tuesday, Raaj tested positive “day before yesterday and has quarantined herself… We have fumigated and santised the set.”
A notable film actor with decades of work to her name, Raaj’s most prominent appearances are in Prem Geet, Naukar Biwi Ka, Lakhon Ki Baat, Zalzala, Kaun Kare Kurbanie, to name a few. She has been associated with the television show Choti Sarrdaarni since it premiered in 2019.
Last year in April, Raaj’s neighbours reportedly filed a complaint against her and her husband Sunil Hingorani, accusing the couple of hosting a party at their residence in Pali Hill, Mumbai, despite a COVID-19 lockdown. Police were called to their place.
The actor told the media that the police came on a “false complaint” and that since her husband was a doctor, a friend came to their place seeking medical assistance.
