Cheraathukal premiere: The Malayalam anthology Cheraathukal premiered today on top ten Malayalam OTT platforms including Saina Play and Limelight Media.
The audience had been waiting for the thriller ever since its trailer released on June 11. The anthology comprises of six short stories, each portraying a different shade of love.
Cheraathukal Premiere: 10 things to know
- Cheraathukal is helmed by six debutant directors, namely, Shajan Kallayi, Shanoob Karuvath, Fawaz Mohammad, Anu Kurishingal, Sreejith Chandran and Jayesh Mohan.
- The movie stars Mala Parvathi, Mareena Michael, Adil Ibrahim, Devaki Rajendran, Manohari Joy, Babu Annoor, Parvathi Arun and Sunil Guruvayoor in the lead roles.
- The six stories directed by six directors each deal with six different emotions. One of the stories is penned down by the renowned Malayalam writer CV Balakrishnan.
- The movie has separate music directors for each story with Shefin Mayan as the sound director. Vidhu Prathap, Ishan Dev, Thaha Kolpad and Nithya Mammen have lent their voices for the film's soundtrack.
- The anthology was shot during the pandemic at different locations in Kerala. The shooting was completed in January this year. About 100 technicians were involved in the making of the film. All the necessary protocols were followed.
- It is produced under the banner of the Mampra Foundation by Dr Mathew Mampra.
- Mareena Michael plays the role of a bold and bubbly home nurse with a modern outlook in the movie. Adil is an unemployed engineer who opts for entrepreneurship and Maala is a strong-minded Christian nun.
- The first look of Cheraathukal was revealed on the occasion of Women's Day this year while the teaser released on June 4.
- The trailer that released on June 11 received a positive response from the audience. They sent across their best wishes to the team for the film's premiere.
- Cheraathukal is now streaming on the OTT platforms Nee Stream, Roots Video, Saina Play, First Shows, Lime Media, Cave, FilMe, Koode, Zinea etc
