Taran Jain, the 17-year-old son of Rajani Jain and her husband Sangeet Jain, lost his life in the accident. The devastated parents shared their grief in a statement posted on the Chatori Rajani Instagram page. "With a shattered heart, we share the unbearable news that our beloved gem, Taran Jain, has passed away in a road accident," they wrote.
A follow-up post announced that the farewell (prayer meeting) would be held on Sunday, February 23, at Hind Apartments, Sector 5, Dwarka, Delhi.
A video that has now gone viral shows Rajani Jain addressing the guests at the farewell, speaking about her son’s love for music and joy. "Yes, we have lost our son, but he has given me so many other sons. This is for all his friends who are heartbroken; this is for him too because all he ever wanted was to see everyone and anyone smiling. That’s exactly what we are doing here. Friends, music, flowers, brought him joy, and I hope he is happy watching us."
