Meet The Female Supporting Star Cast of Pagglait

Pagglait the movie is an upcoming Bollywood comedy written and directed by Umesh Bist.

Produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ekta Kapoor, Guneet Monga and Achin Jain, under the banners Balaji Motion Pictures and Sikhya Entertainment, the film features Sanya Malhotra, Shruti Sharma, Ashutosh Rana and Raghubir Yadav in the lead roles. It is all set to release on Netflix on 26 March 2021.

The film tells the story of a young widow, Sandhya played by Sanya Malhotra and her inability to grieve over the death of her husband. In the course of the movie, she finds herself and makes a startling discovery about her late husband. The film also casts a host of talented female actors in supporting roles.

Here are the six female supporting cast of Pagglait the movie:

1. Sayani Gupta as Ananya

Sayani Gupta made her debut in the feature film Second Marriage Dot Com in 2012. She is a graduate from the Film and Television Institute of India. Gupta has appeared in supporting roles in many Bollywood films which include Fan, Jolly LLB 2 and Article 15. The actor played the lead role in the Zee 5 original movie Posham Pa and was also seen in the critically acclaimed movie Margarita With a Straw where she played the role of Khanum, a blind Pakistani-Bangladeshi homosexual activist. As a singer, Sayani Gupta has lent her voice to the song Kahab from Article 15 and has also contributed to the background vocals of many of Amazon Prime Video’s web series Four More Shots Please, where she played the role of Damini Rizvi-Roy. In Pagglait, Gupta will be seen in the role of Ananya.

2. Sheeba Chaddha

Sheeba Chaddha is a film, television and stage actor. Growing up in Delhi, she developed an interest in theatre and started taking theatre workshops. Chaddha has worked in movies like Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Parzania, Talaash, Delhi 6, Luck by Chance etc. She appeared in the 2011 short film Prakata Het Yad in gibberish which won the audience choice award in the Short films category at River to River. Some of her television appearances include Love Marriage, Na Aana Iss Des Laado, Lakhon Mein Ek etc. The actor has also worked in the stage plays C for Clown, The Blue Mug etc. Chaddha runs a theatre group, “The Company Theatre” in Mumbai. Her latest works include Gully Boy, Jabariya Jodi, Shakuntala Devi and Bandish Bandits.

3. Meghna Mallik

Meghna Mallik is popularly known for her role as Ammaji in the daily soap Na Aana Is Des Laado, a show that focussed on female infanticide and other atrocities women face. In 2013, she participated in the celebrity dance reality show Jhalak Dikhla Jaa. Mallik has played supporting roles in several movies such as Chalte Chalte, Kuch Naa Kaho and Taare Zameen Par. She will also be seen in Parineeti Chopra starrer Saina, where she will be seen playing the role of Usha Rani, an ex-Badminton player and Saina Nehwal’s mother.

4. Natasha Rastogi as Shruthi

Natasha Rastogi started as an actor with her debut film Monsoon Wedding as Sona Verma. Directed by Mira Nair, the film won the Golden Lion award and also received a Golden Globe Award nomination. Rastogi received the Best actor award in Mahindra Excellence in Theatre Awards 2007, for the Amal Allana directorial Nati Binodini. In 2010, she appeared in Do Dooni Chaar as Salma. Rastogi will be seen in the role of Shruthi in Pagglait the movie.

5. Ananya Khare

Ananya Khare is best known for her appearances in the Bollywood films Devdas and Chandini Bar. She won the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor in Chandni Bar. She is a popular face in the world of television. Khare acted in several serials including the 1987 Nirmala and has won several awards for her performances on stage, the television and the big screen. Nowadays, she is mainly seen in a negative role in soap operas.

6. Yamini Singh

Yamini Singh made her debut with K. Bikram Singh’s Tarpan. Some of her daily soaps include Bandhan, Daaman, Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi…Let’s Go, Har Ghar Kuchh Kehta Hai etc. Singh played the role of Sarita in the 2018 Hindi feature film Evening Shadows. Sarita is a woman trying to look at the brighter side of life despite coming from a marriage that broke due to abuse. She will now be seen in Pagglait the movie.
