On The Kelly Clarkson Show, the star explained that her “breasts were augmented” in the poster for the movie Johnny English Reborn. She described the act as “body-tuning.” Pike has also had her eyes photoshopped to appear brown in the imagery used to promote the movie Radioactive.

Rosamund Pike is not the first celebrity to speak up about the industry practice of photoshopping and has criticised unrealistic beauty standards. Zendaya has also shared her views about altering images from photoshoots via Instagram.

She released the original image alongside the altered image and her caption read, “Had a new shoot come out today and was shocked when I found my 19-year-old hips and torso quite manipulated. These are the things that make women self-conscious, that create the unrealistic ideals of beauty that we have. Anyone who knows who I am knows I stand for honest and pure self love.”

Titanic star Kate Winslet has spoken out after being airbrushed by GQ magazine in 2003. In 2013, she also criticised a Vogue shoot for their excessive alteration. The actor stated, “I do not look like that and more importantly, I don't desire to look like that."

Singer, songwriter, and actor Lady Gaga has also criticised the media’s practice of altering images and stated that people should “fight back against the forces that make them feel like they're not beautiful”.
