Lootera

Lootera is based on author and writer O. Henry's short story The Last Leaf and is directed by Vikramaditya Motwane. Set in the 1950s India, the film revolves around a con-man (Ranveer Singh) who poses as an archaeologist who falls in love with the daughter of a Bengali zamindar (Sonakshi Sinha). His acting had been highly appreciated in the role of a thief  in the movie.

Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela

Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Ram-Leela had faced a lot of controversy over its title before releasing but the film was lauded for the performance of its actors by the audience. The plot follows the story of two lovers hailing from rival gangster families and the repercussions of their union. Ram-Leela is loosely based on the 1961 Hollywood film West Side Story. The film stars Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone in the lead roles.

Dil Dhadakne Do

Son of billionaire Kamal Mehra (Anil Kapoor), Kabir Mehra (Ranveer Singh) inherits all his father's business while putting his dream of becoming a pilot on the backseat until fearless Farah (Anushka Sharma) comes into his life and teaches him the importance of chasing one's ambitions. The family-drama film dives into the typical familial issues and one's obligations towards their family. Dil Dhadakne Do cast includes Priyanka Chopra, Ranveer Singh, Anil Kapoor, Shefali Shah, Anushka Sharma, Farhan Akhtar and Vikrant Massey among others.

Bajirao Mastani

Ranveer Singh received the Filmfare award for Best Actor for his role of Peshwa Bajirao I in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Bajirao Mastani. The film follows the love story of Maratha Peshwa Bajirao I (Ranveer Singh) and daughter of King Chhatrasal, Mastani (Deepika Padukone). The film was a huge success at the box office as the actors had been highly appreciated for their performances along with Bhansali's over-the-top cinematography.

Ranveer Singh received critical acclaim for his role of Alauddin Khilji in Padmaavat. He also received Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actor for the film. Padmaavat is based on the epic poem by Sufi poet Malik Muhammed Jayasi which follows the story of Rani Padmavati (Deepika Padukone), the queen of Maharawal Ratan Singh (Shahid Kapoor), who fights against Muslim ruler Alauddin Khilji (Ranveer Singh) as he is smitten by the praises of the queen's beauty. The film cast also includes actors Aditi Rao Hydari, Jim Sarbh, Raza Murad and Anupriya Goenka.

Gully Boy

Directed by Zoya Akhtar, Gully Boy is based on the lives of Indian street rappers Divine and Naezy. The film plot follows the story of Murad Ahmed (Ranveer Singh), an ordinary street boy who struggles his way out of the slums of Dharavi to become one of the India's top street rappers. The film acclaimed appreciation as it amassed a number of awards including Filmfare Awards for Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Film. It also received international recognition with awards like NETPAC Award for Best Asian Film.
