'Been Silent For Years': All We Know About The Beckham Family Feud

Brooklyn Peltz Beckham, the eldest son of David and Victoria Beckham, broke his silence in a six-part Instagram Story, laying out his version of a conflict that has been whispered about for years. And once it went live, Instagram couldn’t look away.

“I Have Been Silent for Years”

Brooklyn accused his parents of controlling him for most of his life and of feeding selective stories to the media to protect their image. He also shut down the long-standing rumour that his wife, Nicola Peltz, controls him.

According to Brooklyn, the truth is the opposite. “I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life,” he wrote, adding that the anxiety he grew up with eased only after he distanced himself from his family. 

The Wedding That Changed the Relationship

Brooklyn traced much of the fallout back to his wedding in April 2022.

He claimed Victoria Beckham was meant to design Nicola’s wedding dress but cancelled at the last moment, forcing Nicola to urgently find another designer. This directly contradicts the explanation given publicly at the time, when Nicola said Victoria’s atelier couldn’t complete the dress in time.

But the dress was only part of it.

Brooklyn alleged that the night before the wedding, members of his family told him Nicola was “not blood” and “not family.” According to him, that moment made it clear where his wife stood within the Beckham inner circle. He described these incidents as a turning point, after which his relationship with his parents changed permanently.

As Brooklyn put it bluntly, “Brand Beckham comes first,” suggesting that public appearances and social media optics mattered more than real connection. 

Nicola, Control, and the Silence From the Other Side

Throughout his statement, Brooklyn repeatedly defended Nicola. He rejected the idea that she controls him and said that the narrative was pushed to distract from deeper issues. Nicola herself has stayed silent.

David Beckham has carefully avoided addressing the allegations. When questioned at the World Economic Forum in Davos, he declined to comment, later making a pointed remark during a CNBC interview about children being allowed to “make mistakes” on social media and parents needing to let them learn.

Victoria Beckham, meanwhile, has stayed completely silent, a choice that has only intensified public curiosity.
