Ali Asgar Broke Down When Her Daughter Revealed: They Were Called "dadi ki beti"

When Ali Asgar's daughter recalled how she and her brother were teased at school due to his on-screen appearances on comedy shows, it moved him to tears. In the most recent episode of the dance-based competition series, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, he cried openly after learning that his children had a poor school experience because of his career.

During the show's family-themed programme, Ali's son Nuyaan Asgar and daughter Ada Asgar virtually appeared as guests. Ada praised her father, moving Ali to tears. Read on to know more.

Ali Asgar Breaks Down

A recent preview of the Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa episode shared by Colors Tb V gave viewers a look at Ali's performance and the appearance of his kids. After Ali, who was costumed as a schoolboy, sang for Milegi Milegi from Stree, a video of Ada and Nuyaan was shown in which they offered a heartfelt message for their father.

In the video, Ada told that their school friends used to tell them that they have two mothers.  They would tattoo Basanti, dadi ka beta (Dadi's son), dadi ki beti (Dadi's daughter), and other phrases on them. Ali has previously portrayed "Dadi" in Comedy Nights With Kapil, "Nani" in The Kapil Sharma Show, and "Basanti" in the Comedy Circus.

Ada complimented her father in her video while claiming to be unconcerned about the trolls. She said, "He used to make fun of himself to make others laugh. That's not everyone's cup of tea. We love you, Dad." After receiving his daughter's message, Ali started crying. While others applauded, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa judge Madhuri Dixit also appreciated him and said, "We love you."You can see the whole video here.

It follows Ali's statement from last month that portraying women in his comedic skits affected his ability to land diverse roles. He told Bombay Times, "My image as a comedian is so strong that it has become like a baggage and people don’t consider me for any other role. Woh mujhe auraton ke libaas ke baahar dekh hi nahi paa rahe (they are not able to see me outside the garb of a woman) and they doubt whether I will be able to play any other character."
