As theatres are reviving after the major hit of the COVID-19 pandemic, this year-end has in store some of the year's biggest releases that movie-goers are highly anticipating since their announcements.

Khichdi 2: Mission Paanthukistan:

Nostalgia kick for all the millennial kids as our favourite show Khichadi is coming with another film, the direct sequel to the 2010 film Khichadi: The Movie. Khichadi 2 is a family comedy adventure drama starring Supriya Pathak Kapur, Rajeev Mehta, Anang Desai, Vandana Pathak, and Jamnadas Majethia in lead roles.

Release Date: November 17.

Emergency:

Emergency is a biographical political drama based on the 1975 Emergency in India, which was 21 months of rule under President's rule. Marking Kangana's directorial debut, Ranaut will be in the leading role of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi alongside Anupam Kher, Vishal Filhuriya, Mahima Chaudhry, Satish Kaushki, Shreyas Talpade and more. 

Release Date: November 24. 

Animal:

The film is said to be a dark and gritty thriller that explores the themes of violence, revenge, and family. Ranbir Kapoor plays the role of a gangster in the film, and it is said to be one of his most challenging roles to date. The film has a star-studded cast of Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Rashmika Mandanna, and Tripti Dimri.

Sam Bahadur:

A biographical war drama film based on the life of India's first field marshal, Sam Manekshaw set against the backdrop of the 1971 Indo-Pakistan War, Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw led the Indian Army from the front, ending in the creation of Bangladesh. It stars Vicky Kaushal in the title role, alongside Fatima Sana Shaikh, Sanya Malhotra, Neeraj Kabi, Edward Sonnenblick, and Zeeshan Ayyub.

Merry Christmas:

An upcoming suspenseful thriller with a twist by the makers of Badlapur, Andhadhun, Johnny Gaddar and more. The film is also notable for being the first time that Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi have worked together in the direction of Sriram Raghavan while the cast also includes Radhika Apte, Aditi Govitrikar, Tinnu Anand and more. 

Release Date: December 8. 

Salaar:

The action drama film by the makers of the hit film series KGF is coming up with yet another violent gangster who is forced to take on the other criminal gangs after making a promise to his dying friend. The film is highly anticipated by Prabhas' fans as this will be a big release after a streak of actor's flop films. The film stars Prabhas, Shruti Haasan, Jagapathi Babu, Madhu Guruswamy, and Easwari Rao. 

Release Date: December 21. 

Dunki:

After making a record-breaking comeback with back-to-back blockbusters, Shah Rukh Khan has one last treat of the year left for his fans as he will be starring in Rajkumar Hirani's comedy-drama based on the concept of "Donkey Flight", an unlawful backdoor entry technique for nations like United Kingdom, Canada and the United States of America. The film also stars Tapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Boman Irani etc. 

Release Date: December 22.
