Television actress Hina Khan has won the best actress award for her film, Lines at the Montgomery International Film Festival (MIFF) in the USA. The movie was also nominated in the best picture category.

Here are five things to know about Hina Khan's film Lines:

1. Last year, the Naagin actress had shared the first look of her film Lines and talked about her character Nazia. She wrote on Instagram, "Emotions don't change because of the borders in between. The life and plight of #Nazia is a simple portrayal of any girl who faces the magnitude of ordinary challenges in a not so ordinary story. Lines is my debut in films. I hope you all love it as much we loved it. This is the first look launched at Cannes film Festival and an official poster, which depicts more than a poster can!"

2. The film marked Khan's debut in Bollywood, however, reportedly, its release was later postponed for her thriller, Hacked. Launching the poster of her first film, the Ye Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai actor, in 2019, had graced the red carpet of the 72nd edition of the Cannes Film Festival and captioned it: "The picture is just not "a" picture."

3. Lines is directed by Hussain Khan and written by Kunwar Shakti Singh and Rahat Kazmi. The film also stars Rishi Bhutani, playing a Pakistani guy, who eventually falls for Khan, who is essaying the role of an Indian Muslim girl.

4. The former Bigg Boss contestant has been roped in for the role of a blind girl in her first Indo-Hollywood project, Country of Blind, which is directed by Rahat Kazmi. Taking to Instagram, Khan had shared details about her character from the film. She captioned the post as, “Meet Gosha. My first Indo-Hollywood project, directed by our very own and talented Rahat Kazmi.”

5. Khan, who had two releases – a film Hacked and web show Damaged 2 – last year, said, "I don’t have any project lined up in 2021 as yet. Yet, I consider myself one of the lucky ones as I had multiple projects release this year."
