Priyanka Chopra is well known for choosing to play unconventional roles on screen. The versatile actor leaves us wanting more. From Quantico to The White Tiger, her characters have had strong feminist streaks. These are 5 Strong Priyanka Chopra characters we absolutely loved.

1. Pinky (The White Tiger)

Pinky is a liberated and opinionated woman who was born in India but raised in Jackson Heights, New York. She gets married to Ashok, the son of a landlord against the will of his family. In a scene, we find a family member trying to silence her during a discussion but she refuses to listen to him, thus putting forward her outspoken and rebellious nature. Being brought up abroad, she finds it difficult to adjust in a lesser developed country like India. Seeing Ashok's disinterest in returning to America, she decides to leave him and fly on her own, thereby taking an independent decision instead of staying back with her husband like a 'good obedient wife'.

2. Aditi Chaudhary (The Sky Is Pink)

Aditi depicts a mother who can go to any extent for her children. On learning of her pregnancy, her husband Niren tries convincing her to abort the child. This is because they lost their first child, Tanya due to a rare genetic condition called severe combined immunodeficiency and he feared it would affect the unborn child too. Aditi, however, is determined to give birth to the child and is clear about her decision. On realising that the baby, Aisha also suffers from the same condition, she does all that she can to nurse her back to health by travelling to London and seeking medical help.

Starting from adopting a pet to seeing the aquatic life and even writing a book, Aisha does everything to make her last days the best ones thanks to her mother. Aditi also makes sure that Aisha gets to see the first copy of her book before her death.

3. Mary Kom (Mary Kom)

If we talk about strong Priyanka Chopra characters, it would be unfair to leave this out. Chopra brings to life the character of MC Mary Kom, an Indian amateur boxer. She breaks herself free from the chains of patriarchy by going against her conservative father who was initially not in favour of her passion for boxing. Through her  performance, Chopra also shatters the stereotype of a woman's career seeing a closure after she has children.

She does take a break on becoming a mother but bounces back once her husband supports and encourages her. In an impactful scene, we find her protesting against the authorities who discriminated against her for being a North Eastern. Mary Kom is an inspiring example of women empowerment and the actor has done absolute justice to her character.
