200 Halla Ho streaming platform: The Sarthak Dasgupta directorial 200 Halla Ho released today. It is the representation of a spine-chilling incident that occurred in 2005.

Two hundred women broke into the district court of Nagpur and allegedly killed a rape accused Akku Yadav. After 16 years of the incident, Sarthak takes us back in time when the underprivileged women fought for justice.

200 Halla Ho synopsis

The community of Dalit women face rape, harassment, eve-teasing and molestation at the hands of Bali Choudhary, a local goon. They undergo a change when Asha Surve stands up against the offenders. The director then goes on to share the glimpses of the shocking murder that takes place inside the court. Gradually, we are introduced to several members associated with the case. These include everyone from the the cops to the 200 women who bravely risk their lives in their fight for justice.

Amol Palekar plays the role of a retired High Court judge, Vitthal Dangle. He refuses to allow his caste identity (ie, being a Dalit) come into the picture. This is because he believes in justice and the Indian Constitution's power. Dangle seems to be in conflict with his own beliefs. We are left to see if his emotional turmoil makes him look at justice from a different angle.

200 Halla Ho star cast

The movie stars veteran actor Amol Palekar in the lead role. It marks his comeback after 12 years of sabbatical. Besides him, it also features actors Saloni Batra, Rinku Rajguru, Barun Sobti and Sahil Khattar in prominent roles.
