“The separation of feminine and masculine has torn us into pieces. The balance of feminine and masculine will bring us back to peace.” Huge shout out for those down for their feminine era!

Disclaimer: A Very Happy Women’s Day today, yesterday and all days to come everyone: she/her; he/his; they/them! Just to be clear upfront to stans of words like – feminism, patriarchy, heteronormative, gender gap, glass ceiling, sexism, misogynistic stereotypes, even discrimination for that matter – we aren’t going to be using any of those.

Will that mean a Woman’s Day write-up won’t be “womaning” enough? Absolutely not! We very much are going to be “investing in women” to “accelerate progress” through “inspired inclusion.”

How? By saying “HELLO” and wholeheartedly embracing the feminine in each one of us. Yes, that’s how. This feminine that can go from meek to mighty, coy to cut throat, tender to tenacious, warrior to healer and soft to superhuman strong at the speed of the Dodge Demon 170 – zero to 100 under 2 seconds!

Embracing feminine power

This nurturing feminine which balances the independent masculine in each one of us. The internal, passive, cooling and downward yin to our external, dynamic, warming and upward yang. The High Priestess to our Magician. The Queen of Wands to our Kind of Cups! We aren’t going deep Tao or Tarot, just another way of saying let’s get introduced to this mostly hidden side in all of us which direly needs resurrection so that our hyper active “doing and achieving” mode is harmonized by our calming “intuitive and receiving” energy.

Anyone who has any doubt about the relevance of the feminine in a world that supposedly bows down on all fours to the alpha high flyer, the workaholic go-getter, the ambitious hustler, the macho boss-persona should dig out the latest statistics on high functioning anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, bulimia nervosa, OCD, panic attacks and dissociative issues among people today due primarily to the energy imbalances, chakra misalignments. And all this across ages, like a generational curse being passed down families and neighbourhoods, to a great deal because the feminine residing in us has somehow become an outlier – an exception, an oddity, an aberration when in fact it should ideally be the new normal, the standard, the equilibrium!

“A complete human being is in equilibrium between the masculine and the feminine,” Sadhguru has been quoted to have said. To which trailblazing author Isabelle Allende adds, “we live in a world that is driven by testosterone and adrenaline,” for real change to happen, “we need feminine energy in the management of the world. We need a critical number of women in positions of power, and we need to nurture the feminine energy in men (everyone).”

In other words, the INSPIRED INCLUSION and INVESTING in our feminine will ACCELERATE PROGRESS. Spirituality speaks of suffering when we “lack a strong connection between the feminine and the masculine” in the sacred scheme of things. A “wounded feminine” which is insecure and powerless triggers the overly aggressive and egoistic “wounded masculine.” Science speaks of “emotional and rational” integration here.

The awakened feminine on the other hand knows her worth, inspires others to shine and live unapologetically alongside the awakened masculine that leads with integrity, is purpose driven and grounded. At the cost of repeating, both the feminine and the masculine cohabit in all of us in the form of beliefs, emotions, values and behaviour. It’s just which energy you “feed” more. Which energy you let dominate. Which energy you foster and allow to flourish! Consequently proving how well-rounded and fulfilling your life is.

All it needs is cultivating a holistic mind-body-soul connect by working on our Emotional Quotient/Intelligence. As a wellness coach pointed out, that just like for every masculine Bulgarian Squat there needs to be a relaxing shavasana, every masculine weight training has to be balanced out with a feminine stretch for optimum results.” So, step out of the comfort zone, make vulnerability your BFF and recognise your unique strengths through creative self-care, deep relationships, meaningful convos and mindful trust building.

For a start, a blogger from Hong Kong suggests just “moving your body” and letting it “free flow” into feminine energy. “We all need to protect this healing energy that recharges us by reducing stress and boosting our mood,” sometimes all it needs is some Shinrin Yoku or some pampering at the spa or a DIY pottery session! Those wanting to go further can opt for mindfulness sessions, meditation, alternative therapies, volunteering, self-awareness workshops, somatic grounding, the list is as vast and varied as our individuality. Take your pick! Our Schadenfreude craves some Hygge!

“The separation of feminine and masculine has torn us into pieces. The balance of feminine and masculine will bring us back to peace.” Huge shout out for those down for their feminine era! Happy Women’s Day. Every Day. #peaceout
