college life

The first time you get the feel that you have the liberty to make your own decisions and choices is when you enter your college life. It's your college life that makes you independent, responsible, and courageous. You can come out with the best version of yourself if you carry yourself in an extremely calculated way. What I mean by calculated is always being aware  and introspecting yourself.

SheThePeople.TV talked to a few college girls in Delhi to know what they think about that one habit they should definitely get rid of in their college lives.

Stop being impulsive

Snigdha Srivastav, a B.Com student of Kamala Nehru College said, “College life is the time when you make a good network of friends. These friendships are the forever ones and one should always try to make them everlasting. I have very few friends from my school life because I had a very impulsive nature. When I entered college and I saw my college friends reuniting with their school friends, I felt really bad about myself. Since then, I decided to change my demeanour.”

Never Procrastinate

A journalism student of Banasthali Vidyapith, Maitri Seth, said, “I believe that one habit which we should get rid of as early as possible not necessarily in college life is the habit of procrastination. I hate procrastinating things. It eats up my future plans because I am stuck doing my pending stuff. Sometimes, I used to think in my school life that I can do this later or there is enough time remaining. But, after entering the college I realised that if I don't do it know, I won't be able to do it ever.”

Get out of the defensive mode

“If you want to fetch as much milk as you can from your college life, then you should be confident and stop being defensive about things. I have seen my friends who were good at nothing in the first year. But what some of them did was never giving up. I am very shocked to see them today when they perform on stage with utmost confidence,” said Pratiksha Gupta, a student of Physics Hons from Gargi College.

Learn time management well

“If you are in college and you are still living in that school zone, then you should definitely work upon yourself. What I want to say is, you got to learn very different qualities during this period and try to get out of your comfort zone. Time management is one thing which you should definitely be equipped with once you say farewell to your college. Thus, try harder to get rid of your old lazy routine. Sometimes, being lazy is also enjoyable but generally, you should pull your socks up and always be on your toes,” said Sakshi Mishra, a student of Kamala Nehru College.

Be active and agile

“College life is the life where no person should act dumb. One should be filled with a lot of energy and enthusiasm. Your foundation stones to the future are laid in the college life itself. So, cheer up and try to be both active and agile. I was a bit slow person when I was in my first year but when I saw girls around me doing so much amazing stuff, I decided to inculcate this trait from them,” said Mitanshi Ahuja, a student of Kamala Nehru College.
