Influencer photoshoot at Holocaust Memorial: Several social media users were left aghast when a video of an influencer posing at the somber Holocaust Memorial in Berlin began doing rounds online earlier this week. Viral on TikTok, the short clip shows a blonde-haired woman in an all-black outfit posing in a manner being deemed 'disrespectful' to the monument.

The memorial commemorates Jewish victims of the Holocaust during World War II under Adolf Hitler's regime. Its stelae (slab) design is distinct to the place that is visited by thousands every year.

In the video shared by pop culture channel Influencers in the Wild on Twitter, the influencer is seen striking poses on one of the blocks while a photographer clicks her. Some are also claiming that the woman's attire, which includes a crop top showing off her midriff - is improper for the memorial.

A woman off-camera is heard saying, "I’m horrified beyond words."

Influencer Photoshoot At Holocaust Memorial Sparks Anger: What People Said

The viral video has amassed many angry reactions. "The lack of sympathy and the level of disrespect that people display at the Holocaust memorials is staggering. It literally blows my mind that people are so damn callous," a user tweeted. "The signs there are extremely clear that this is unacceptable," another wrote.

"I live in Berlin and the amount of people I see regularly who do similar things is just ridiculous," one user said. Another tweet read, "The Karen in me came out & I yelled at people for sitting on the pillars a couple years ago. Those pillars are sacred & not a resting place for one’s tuchus."

However, many called the videographer out, saying they could have told the influencer to get off the blocks instead of shooting a video.

"Very nice. Just expose people online, who are probably not aware of the fact that this is a memorial," one Twitter user wrote. "Why did you video them and not tell them to get off?" asked another.

This is not the first time a visitor's antics at the Holocaust Memorial have stirred controversy. People based around the memorial have often spoken up about problematic selfies, poses, photos and conduct visitors exhibit at the historical site. The criticism was documented well by Israeli artist Shahak Shapira whose satire project 'Yolocaust' aimed at calling out disrespectful behaviour.
