What makes ABBA so special?

In the year 1972, singers Agnetha Fältskog, Anni-Frid Lyngstad joined hands with Anderson and Ulvaeus to form a pop group named ABBA. The group actually derives its name from the initial letters of its band members' names. The band made its debut with an album titles Ring Ring, which went on to become a hit.

Through the 70s and 80s, ABBA went on to give several hit songs like Mamma Mia, Waterloo, Dancing Queen, Fernando, Money Money Money, Knowing Me, Knowing You and many more, that helped the band gain global popularity. While the group never officially said that they were disbanding, ABBA receded from the spotlight around 1982.

Interestingly, the band consisted of two couples, with Fältskog marrying Ulvaeus in 1971 and Lyngstad walking down the aisle with Andersson in 1978. Both the marriages failed to outlast the band's popularity and Fältskog divorced Ulvaeus in 1980 while Lynstag and Andersson called it quits the next year.

ABBA Reunion
