SheThePeople and Matchbox by Usawa are collaborating on a monthly column where we publish unpopular opinions – because, well, we have too many of those ourselves. Opinions are not always based on facts, logic or research. Yet, many of them are held close as truths, traditions, and sanskars. When someone challenges these opinions, they are labelled as too loud or too opinionated. They are often told to keep their opinions to themselves or to think before they speak.

Alternative viewpoints are silenced, minority opinions dismissed, dissenting voices coerced, and contrarian views ‘corrected.’

Through this monthly column, Your Monthly Dissent Dispatch, which will be published on both SheThePeople and Matchbox by Usawa, we hope not only to hear your voices but to amplify them. Because unpopular opinions deserve to be expressed, too. We will publish one article every month on both platforms.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

We love irreverence, humour, and clarity of thought. We are wary of personal vendettas, spite, and unfounded attacks.
To submit, send an email to: submission@usawa.in and team@shethepeople.tv

What we need

•    Your name, contact information, social media handles, and a 50-word bio-note in the body of the email.
•    A 1,000-word article with a clear heading and subheading, submitted as a Word document.
•    A photograph (JPG file) attached to the email.

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

•    The email subject line must follow this format: Dissent Dispatch | Your Name | Date (dd-mm-yy).
•    Your work must be original, not plagiarised, and not created using AI.
•    All sources and quotations must be linked and/or clearly cited as footnotes.

Rolling submissions are open. We may request editorial changes before publication. We may also invite you to participate in an Instagram Live or another audio-visual social media event.

Go on, then. Shout your unpopular opinions from the rooftops. We promise we won’t get offended.
