The Directorate Of Education(DOE) in a letter to the schools wrote, “It is reiterated that age relaxation of up to 30 days may be granted at the level of the heads of the school in both the minimum and maximum age limit. "

"Therefore, any parent seeking age relaxation in respect of their ward may approach the school principal through a manual application for his or her consideration,” the letter added.

The DOE has been offering age relaxation every year since 2018. In 2020, the government had given the same one-month relaxation to students. For admissions in nursery, kindergarten and class 1, students have to be in a specific age-group. The upper limit for nursery admission is set four years, five years for kindergarten and six years for class 1.

As per the government order, the admission for nursery classes began on February 18 and will go on till March 4. The first list of selected students will be released on March 20.
