Nishank added while making the announcement that there was some confusion among the students regarding JEE (Main) 2021 examination during COVID and considering the fact that student's safety, security and bright future should be the highest priorities of the Education Ministry, the ministry has come to the conclusion of the said decision.

"Hon’ble PM Narendra Modi Ji has always said that the safety, security and bright future of our students should be the highest priorities," he said, according to a report by Indian TV news.

From the prevailing academic session, the Joint Entrance Examination is being conducted four times a year. The said process is expected to offer flexibility to students and a chance to improve their scores. The first phase was held in February, while the second phase was held in March.

Those students who missed the chance of applying for the third session due to any reason including COVID-19 will be given a chance to apply online again. The minister said that the online procedure will start tonight and the window will be open till July 8, 11.50 pm.

The same will be applied to students who missed applying for the fourth session. They will be allowed to apply again between July 9-July 12, 2021.

Moreover, the students will also be able to change their exam centre preferences within the three-day window according to their wish and convenience, the announcement stated.

The officials present at the centres will provide face masks to all the candidates and all the computers and seats will be sanitized before and after the exams, a detailed press note issued by the National Testing Agency (NTA) stated.
